An Apple HomeView wall mount is not a bracket you add later. Apple sells the wall version as its own model, priced at the same $299 as the tabletop HomeView, and it hangs on one of three Schneider Home Power Mounts that start at $59.95. So the real choice is which HomeView you order on day one.
Apple announced both versions on October 13, 2026. Pre-orders opened the same day, and both ship on Friday, November 13 in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and India. Picking wrong means buying a second $299 screen, which is a pricey way to change your mind about a kitchen wall.
Tabletop vs wall-mounted HomeView at a glance
Most of the experience is identical. Each one has the 7-inch Liquid Retina screen, the A18 chip, Siri AI, face recognition for up to six people and full control of the Home app. The differences sit in the hardware around the screen.

The three Apple HomeView wall mount options
Schneider Home builds all three mounts, and you need exactly one. Apple lists them by U.S. starting price:
- Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector – $59.95 and up, orderable now.
- Power Mount AC Wired – $79.95 and up, orderable now.
- Power Mount PoE Wired – $129.95, arriving in early 2027.
The names tell you how each mount gets its power: a USB-C connection, a wired AC hookup or Power over Ethernet. Apple’s announcement does not list the wiring, box sizes or wall types each mount supports, so read the full product page before you cut into drywall. Apple does say each Apple HomeView wall mount can be installed by the owner or by a professional.
A note on installers. Apple Retail is also adding paid third-party installation from ADT for smart home accessories in the U.S. this fall. Apple has not said whether that service covers HomeView mounts, so ask before you book it.
Put the mount into the budget too. The cheapest wall setup lands at about $359 before tax, and the PoE version takes the total close to $429. The tabletop model needs no extras at all.
Sound and screen differences that matter
Audio is the biggest trade-off. On the desk version, the domed base holds a woofer that fires downward plus two force-cancelling passive radiators, with two more drivers up in the display. Apple pitches that as room-filling Spatial Audio with strong bass.
The flat version keeps two custom drivers and uses computational audio tuned for sitting against a wall. Apple has not published side-by-side figures, but fewer drivers and no woofer means the tabletop model should be the better music speaker. If HomeView will double as your kitchen radio, that gap is the main cost of choosing an Apple HomeView wall mount.
The screen behaves the same on both. Brightness runs from 500 nits for a sunny room down to 0.3 nits for a dark bedroom, True Tone adjusts color to the light, and the layout gets simpler when you are across the room. The hinge on the tabletop model lets you tilt the display toward you, which helps on a low shelf or a tall counter.
Where each one makes sense
Pick the wall version if… you want a fixed control panel by the front door, in a hallway or next to the garage. That is where checking up to nine camera feeds on the Home Camera face, unlocking a door or glancing at the thermostat makes the most sense. An Apple HomeView wall mount also keeps counters clear and the cable out of sight, which matters in a small kitchen.
Pick the tabletop version if… you want a speaker, a FaceTime screen and a nightstand clock in one. Center Stage keeps people framed on calls, and the four color choices fit more rooms. You can also move it from the kitchen to the bedroom later, which a wall unit cannot do.
Renters and first-timers. If you are not sure where a smart display belongs in your home, the tabletop one is the safer bet. Live with it for a month, then decide whether a wall spot would earn its keep.
What you need before buying either model
Both versions share the same fine print, so none of this changes with an Apple HomeView wall mount. Siri AI launches in beta in HomeView software 27.2, in English, and Apple is not selling HomeView in the European Union at all, since Siri AI has not reached iOS in that region. Personal context features need a paired iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence.
Your private content, such as Messages and Calendar, appears only when HomeView recognizes your face and your paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and was unlocked recently. Spotting people, pets, packages and vehicles in camera footage requires an iCloud+ plan. HomeView also listens for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and sends an alert to your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, a handy extra on either model.
If you are building out a home, HomeView acts as a home hub, the same role HomePod and Apple TV 4K play. Our guide to building a HomeKit smart home covers how hubs, scenes and automations fit together, and Apple’s HomeView announcement has the complete spec list. For background on the assistant itself, see what’s new and next for Siri with Apple Intelligence.
Some questions remain open for anyone planning an Apple HomeView wall mount. Apple has not shared the mounted unit’s dimensions, the exact hookups each Power Mount expects, or whether you can move a wall HomeView between mounts later.
Frequently asked questions about the Apple HomeView wall mount
How much does Apple HomeView cost?
Both the tabletop and wall-mounted HomeView cost $299 in the U.S. The wall version also needs a Schneider Home Power Mount, which starts at $59.95.
Can I put the tabletop HomeView on a wall?
Apple has not announced a way to do that. The wall option is a separate model, HomeView (Wall Mounted), built to attach to one of the three Power Mounts.
When does Apple HomeView ship?
Both models arrive on Friday, November 13, 2026 in the U.S. and several other countries. The Power Mount PoE Wired follows in early 2027.
Is the Apple HomeView wall mount the right call for you?
Choose the Apple HomeView wall mount if you already know the exact spot where a family control panel belongs and you are fine paying at least $59.95 extra. Everyone else, especially anyone who wants good sound or might move the screen around, should start with the tabletop model. A screen on the wall is a commitment; a screen on the counter is just furniture.
