The summary of the review...

Ever since the original iPad was first unveiled, developers and game designers started to come up with ways to bring amazing, deep and intriguing games. What this tablet brought is the amazing screen which is large enough to offer outstanding visuals and have enough space to control games without using any accessory, and it also brought advanced touch controls and gestures. It could be said that the iOS devices brought a completely new direction in modern day gaming.

In this article we will be taking a look at one of the most advertised games in the iOS App Store. If you browsed newly released games, or if you simply look at the front page to see what is happening in the app store, you might noticed an app named Broken Age. I believe this is one of the bestselling games on the iOS platform. It seems like its popularity is here to stay for a while. If you continue reading this article, you’ll learn about this amazing iPad game and about how much effort was needed to finish a project is big.

Broken Age 2

It all started about two years ago when we got a chance to learn more about a game named Double Fine Adventure. It took more than two years for Broken Age to arrive to iOS, before it was published first for Windows, OSX, and Android platforms. I can say with great certainty that the wait has finally paid off, since this is one of the best games that I’ve seen in a long time. Right from the first screen you’ll be amazed by colorful and fantastical visuals. I assure you that you’ll be pulled into its story after just a few second. Basically, Broken Age is the best proof that videos games are a form of art, at least in some of their instances.

I am not going to tell you about the storyline, simply because you need to experience it for yourself in order to fully appreciate it. What I will say is that you can play as one of two available characters, and switch between them at any time. There’s a very enjoyable and deep story which are presented through thoughtfully designed levels and numerous cut-scenes. In addition, Broken Age brings the voices of an all-star cast, including Elijah Wood, Jack Black, and others. A fantastic and very relaxing soundtrack is brought by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, which shows how much thought and effort was put into making this game.

When it comes to gameplay, Broken Age is basically a point-and-click adventure, which means that you’ll need to tap on the screen to move the characters and made them interact with objects. There is a series of puzzles and other obstacles, meaning you’ll need to take a few moments to figure them out.

Broken Age is one of the most enjoyable iOS games that I’ve played in a while. It brings amazing visuals and very rich and deep gameplay that won’t let you down. Even though it is priced at $10 USD, there are many hours of entertainment in here, which makes this game a valuable purchase.

Pros

PROS: Amazing visuals. Rich and deep gameplay. High replay value. Amazing performance.

Cons
