Review Summary:

Even though I like to spend my spare time playing an action packed iOS game that can keep me busy for hours, I also enjoy in entertaining puzzle games. These games bring lots of fun and they are family-friendly, which makes them a valuable purchase. Even right now, I have a few puzzle games that I occasionally play, and I don’t plan on deleting them until I master each one of them.

A few days back I decided to add yet another puzzle game to my collection, and I did not want to spend any money on it. This way I decided to take a look at what the iOS App Store offers in terms or free games that are not going to be demos or trials, and that are not going to attack me with aggressive in-app purchases. I downloaded a game named Watercolors, by Adonis Software, and right from the first screen I simply feel in love with it. Continue reading to see what is so great about this game and why you should download it today.

Watercolors 2In contrast to numerous puzzle games, Watercolors uses three primary colors to begin with, and this can take you onto a long and unbelievably interesting journey. The main goal in this game is to solve a puzzle, which can be done by combining two or three primary colors to get a certain color that needs to be at the end of each level. However, there are many tricks to solve here, and not everything is as easy as it might seem in the first few levels. There are going to be glowing circles on the board that you need to color appropriately, and this can be done by dragging color from filled circles into the empty ones. A combined color can also remove the primary one, and if you combine all three primary colors, you will actually clear a circle. I am sure this sounds overwhelming and complicated, but this game is very easy to understand and play. However, challenging levels will make you think about your moves and you will need to focus all your attention onto getting the level solved.

On the other hand, besides amazing and fun gameplay, Watercolors also offers nicely designed UI and a calming soundtrack. The visuals are minimal, and you will see a lot of white space on the screen, which creates the best canvas for your cheerful colors.

When it comes to in-app purchases, there are a few. However, if you are persistent enough you will be able to finish this game without spending any money. There are tons of levels available, but if you become truly addicted to Watercolors, you can purchase the Color Frenzy or Crazy Grids for $1 per item. There is also the Pro Pack, which is priced at $3. If you need help solving complicated puzzles, you can purchase five hints for $1 or twenty hints for $3.

Watercolors is one of the most addictive puzzle games that I reviewed recently, and there is a lot to love about this iOS app. It offers very deep and entertaining gameplay, and offers convenient in-app purchases that you don’t really need unless you want to skip a couple of complicated levels.

Pros
