Review Summary:

It seems like only a couple of years ago that external batteries were beyond affordable for most of us, in contrast to today where you can find some amazing models for up to $100. Serial production and some innovations made it possible to produce a high capacitive battery for a low price, so it can be said that these pieces of third party equipment have become essential accessories for our iOS devices.

From time to time, we bring you a review of an external battery pack where we test its performance and compare it to its price. These articles are more helpful than you might think since not every battery performs the same, and not every model does what it promises on the box. This is why it is important to do a little research around the web and read reviews like this one, which seems to be the only way to ensure that your purchase is smart and profitable in the long run.

iWalk is a company that specializes in all kinds of external battery packs, and we tested a few models in the past. Based on these experiences I can say that iWalk produces reliable products, which are also very quality made and durable. Today we will be taking a look at iWalk’s Extreme 10,000 Duo, which brings huge amount of rechargeable power for only $50.

The first thing I noticed and liked about this product is that it brings somewhat unusual design that is trying to get away from traditional brick design. This battery pack is about 6.5 inches long and only 1.75 inches wide. This means that it is very mobile and easy to place in a bag without even noticing it. This is even more impressive when you know that you are carrying the 10,000 mAh battery. On one end, you will get to see and use two USB outputs: 2.1A, and 1.0A. On one of the longer sides there’s a micro-USB port, used to recharge the battery, while the other side holds the power button. On the top, there are four LED signal lights, and a LED flashlight that seems to be very common in newly released battery packs.

Since it brings fast 2.1A USB output, you will be able to recharge iPads as well. We tested this battery using a fully depleted iPad Air. Extreme Duo managed to deliver around 80% of recharge, which seems like the average result. What is also important to mention is that the charging time was roughly three hours and fifteen minutes. On the other hand, you will be able to recharge your iPhone up to five times.

There is a lot to like about Extreme 10,000 Duo by iWalk, which seems to bring great performance at amazingly attractive price. This product was priced around $100 once it was first released, but you can now purchase it for only $50, which is one of the best deals you can find at the moment. I warmly recommend buying this product, especially if your need a battery with higher capacity.

Pros
