Review Summary:

PROS: Incredible design. Quality made. Thin and light. Comfortable to use. CONS: None.

When the iPad was introduced to the market, many critics failed to see its full potential. Even though it was clear that the iPad was innovative and great for consuming digital content, at first it was hard to imagine that one day it will become something very close to a notebook replacement. Simply add a wireless keyboard to this tablet, and you’ll be ready to create documents, edit photos and videos, and do many productive tasks.

I consider a wireless keyboard to be one of those essential pieces of additional equipment, which turns an iPad into a full-featured netbook. Many people also realized this, so today we’ve got an incredible choice of available models. One of the newest trends in the world of iPad-compatible keyboards are products which combine elegant cases with wireless keyboards.

Ultimate Keyboard Case 1

In today’s article we are going to take a look at a newest product by Belkin, and as it turns out this is a keyboard case compatible with 3rd and 4th generation iPad, but you can also use it with the second generation in a little bit altered edition. It is called the Ultimate Keyboard Case and it’s priced at $130.

When it comes to Belkin, I always expect quality made products which come with great functionality. Not every product becomes a huge success, but in overall you can rely on Belkin’s products. I am glad to say that the Ultimate Keyboard Case exceeded my expectations, since this is nicely designed product which seems like a full-featured premium grade keyboard case.

First you’ll need to insert your iPad into the plastic frame, which comes with cutouts for ports and buttons. Plastics are quality made, and strong enough to fully protect your tablet. The plastic frame is connected to the keyboard (which also acts as a cover) via leather-like vinyl. This construction allows you to use several viewing angles which snap into place thanks to magnets. These magnets also play a role in connecting the front and the back part of this case, so you don’t have to worry about opening it by accident. I need to say that these magnets are not as strong as they could be, but they will do the job.

When it comes to design of the Ultimate Keyboard Case, I was really impressed. There are a lot of fine details that captured my attention, and it’s clear that Belkin’s designers took their time to think about every detail. Finishing touches are there to leave a very positive impression, and they are quality made and nicely balanced as well.

Finally, a few words about the keyboard. It’s incredibly comfortable to use, and probably one of the best keyboards that I’ve encountered in this product category. Layout is very natural, so there’s no adjustment period needed, and iPad-specific function keys are there to allow you to make the most out of your tablet.

Even though this is one of the pricier keyboard cases made for iPad, you’ll get a lot for your money. This is a premium grade product, which you’ll use for a long time. I expect from this product to be one of the bestselling.
