Review Summary:

PROS: Quality made. Interesting combination of natural materials. CONS: A bit high priced. Problems with using this product as a stand.

I am a big fan of iPhone wallet cases, since they combine two essential roles that you use on multiple occasions throughout the day. These cases come in different shapes and sizes, from those standard shell-style iPhone cases with a pouch on their backs, up to those elegant folio cases.

In this article we are going to take a look at one of those interesting folio-style cases, made to serve as a wallet as well. This wallet case is named Milan, and it’s made by Marware. It’s compatible with the iPhone 5 and 5S, and it’s currently priced at $60. I was interested to see what kind of design and quality I can get for this price, so continue reading to see if Marware’s Milan is up to expectations.

Milan Case 1

On a first look I think we all can agree that Milan is a nicely designed product. It brings a combination of leather and wood, which is something that I haven’t seen before and which seems interesting enough, especially if you remember that these two materials are combined with elegant aesthetics of the phone itself. This is a genuine leather which feels very nice under the fingers, and I believe that the stitching is also very quality made. In order to get the most out of this material, I would suggest buying some kind of natural oil, so you can polish the leather from time to time. This material is visible on the inside as well, so this product certainly leaves that impression of luxury and high grade quality.

As you can see from the pictures, there are also two large stripes of wood which create a very interesting combination. This is a cherry wood, which is placed on those parts that you’re going to hold the most. Even though this seems like an unusual combination, it works very well in practice and I really liked these wooden strips for more than one reason. First of all, it works nicely with leather in creating that luxury and premium vibe. It also has its practical reasons, since this way the case easily slips into the pocket. It also gives that much needed hardness to a whole construction.

Milan Case 2

On the inside you can find a standard shell-style case for your phone on one side, while the other side features several pockets. There’s a plastic window for your ID, as well as a credit card slot, and one additional pocket where you can place some cash, another plastic card, or a key perhaps. All of these pockets are quality made and firm enough to keep all your credit cards in their places. A shell-style case grips the phone very firmly, and leaves all ports opened for easy access. It is also important to say that you’ll receive a screen film, along with a cleaning cloth.

Marware also tells us that this case can be used as a stand, even though you’ll need to strongly press down your phone in order to take a certain viewing angle. This means that you can actually use it as a stand, but this certainly isn’t the biggest selling point of this wallet case.
