Hyperjuice 3If you’re a frequent traveler then you already know how important it is to have an external rechargeable battery to take care of your notebook and smartphone. These are not your average external batteries that provides additional couple of hours’ battery life, because HyperJuice 2  is a high-capacity storage battery that can fully charge your notebook and smartphones for a long time.

With the introduction of Retina displays on iPhones and iPads (and now MacBooks as well), external batteries needed to achieve a new milestone. These are specific Apple-friendly products which support OSX and iOS fast charging technologies and are able to support the newest generation of charging cables. In this article you’ll be able to read about the newest Apple-friendly product from Sanho, whose expertise is in development of portable power solutions. This product is called HyperJuice 2.

HyperJuice 2 1

The HyperJuice 2 is simply said, an external battery pack made for your MacBook and any iOS device. According to Sanho, this is the “world’s most advanced battery for Apple MacBook, iPad, iPhone, and USB devices”, so we were eager to try out this battery pack and see if it’s worth a price of $350.

The HyperJuice 2 brings 27,000mAh battery, which is actually incredible. This means you’ll be able to increase MacBook’s life up to 26 hours, or to provide 71 hours of additional iPad use, or to fully recharge an iPhone up to 19 times. These are amazing numbers, and not that many battery packs can achieve these results.

Since it is made to be primarily used with Apple-designed devices, HyperJuice 2 features a very stylish and elegant design. It is actually a very minimalistic and its casing is made of aluminum. On one of its sides it features small OLED display, which can show battery percentage and its current temperature. Next to this screen, you can find all the needed ports used to connect in and out.

It is important to say that if you plan on using this battery pack, you’ll also need Apple-made MagSafe Airline Adapter, even though Sanho also made their own MagicBox set which provides the same functionality. Also, if you’ve got an older MacBook model, you will need MagSafe to MagSafe 2 adapter, which costs $10. In other words, you’ll need to spend approximately $50 on additional adapters which are not included with HyperJuice 2, and all of this could increase its price to around $400, which is very high.

It is clear that HyperJuice 2 is a premium product. It does offer absolutely incredible battery life, and comes from a company which is specialized in this product category. However, the only negative thing is its price of $400, which is a very serious investment. In other words, this is a product made for those who are in absolute need of additional battery power, and not for an average home user.

Our rating for this product will be 3.0, which is affected by its very high price. Even though we give 5.0 for its performance and features, we need to lower its rating because of its price, need to buy additional adapter, and lack of any bag which is normally provided with battery packs of this size.
